Short version: we collect very little, we use it only to answer you and to send the newsletter you asked for, and we never sell it.
The short version
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Not to anyone, not ever.
- We only email you if you contacted us or asked for the newsletter.
- Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list.
- We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site.
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you choose to add one, and your message. This is emailed to us so we can reply.
- Newsletter signup. Your email address, so we can send you new articles and notices about new products.
- Anything else you write to us. If you email us directly, we keep that message so we can help you.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, our server keeps standard logs: IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. These are used to keep the site secure and running properly, not to build a profile of you.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, and none of them are for advertising:
- Essential website cookies set by WordPress, needed for the site to function.
- Performance cookies used by our caching system so pages load quickly.
- Security cookies set by our firewall to detect and block malicious traffic.
- Partner chat cookies, and only if you choose to start the live chat on the Financial Planning & Retirement Services page. They support that conversation and let the advisor recognise you if you come back. Nothing is set unless you press the button to begin.
We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this page and say so plainly before turning anything on.
Outside services we rely on
Running a website means using a few outside providers. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job:
- Our web host stores the site and its data.
- Our email and newsletter system delivers messages and manages the subscriber list.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used here. Your browser requests them from Google, which means Google can see your IP address.
- Our chat assistant is provided by an outside service. If you type into the chat window, your conversation is processed by that provider.
- A partner live chat is offered on the Financial Planning & Retirement Services page. It is staffed by Social Security Advisors, not by Prime Years, and it is powered by LiveChat. It does not load at all unless you press the button to open it. If you do, what you type is handled by that partner and their provider, under their privacy policy, not ours.
- Our security firewall inspects traffic to block attacks.
Partner links
When you click through to a partner, you leave our site and their privacy policy takes over. We do not pass your name, email address, or phone number to partners. If you buy something, that company handles your payment details, not us. We never see your card number.
How we use your information
- To answer your question or return your call
- To send the newsletter, if you asked for it
- To keep the site secure and working
- To understand which guides people find useful, so we can write better ones
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in the contact form. We do not send unrelated promotional email on behalf of other companies.
How long we keep it
Contact messages stay in our email so we have a record of the conversation. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period and then cycled out. If you ask us to delete your information, we will.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any newsletter.
- Ask what we hold about you and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Email contact@primeyears.org for any of these. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We honour those requests regardless of where you live.
Children
Prime Years is written for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, sits behind a security firewall, and is backed up regularly. No website can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and we keep our software current.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date below.
